Maglev Train
On the last day of the China trip, we took the Maglev Train to the airport. At full speed, the Maglev Train takes 7 minutes and 20 seconds to complete a distance of 30 km. Its maximum operational speed is 431km/h. However, when we took the train its maximum speed for the journey was 301km/h. The Maglev Train is very different from Singapore's Mass Rapid Transit (MRT). Firstly, there were cushion seats in the Maglev Train and there were no standing space since the train moves at high speed. Secondly, the price of the ticket is expensive so not many people take the train, Singapore's MRT are always crowded especially during peak hours.
How easy/difficult it was to get around
It was relatively easy to get around in China as there was a bus to bring us to the different destinations in China. However, the traffic in China is extremely different from Singapore. Drivers were impatient and started honking when we tried to cross the road. We had to run from one end of the road to the other end. The traffic lights in China had a timer, that counts down until the time which the red light switches to green. Bus stops were not as common compared to Singapore and most people prefers using cars or bicycles to reach their destinations.
